  • How do you measure compassion?

Is it purely subjective or are there objective measures?

Would patient/client rating be the most useful tool?

  • How do you measure competence?

It is not just about qualifications and experience – it is about whether this is actually being demonstrated in practice.

  • How can this be taken forward to inform national policy?

Is it feasible anyway to do this?

  • Is it something that is transferable from the healthcare setting to a wider organisational and managerial modus operandi?
